The cost to design and develop a website depends on the number of pages, the number of photograps and level of complexity.
A simple 5 page website with 15 to 20 photos will cost about $500. Additional pages are about $50 each. Use of features such as drop-down navigation menus, photo slide-shows, and video cost extra and will be quoted when the requirements are determined.
There is also a cost to use a domain name (that thing that ends in 'dot com') of about $10 per year, and a yearly cost to host your web site of about $120 per year.
First, think of several possible names that you might like. If you already are using a name for your business or hobby, then come up with several variations. For example, SundanceKennel.com, SundanceSpaniels.com or SundanceCockers.com may be possibilities.
Next, go to a Domain Name Registrar, such as GoDaddy.com and enter your desired domain name in the area provided. When you find a domain name that is available then follow the steps to purchase the right to use the domain name.
NOTE! Be sure to write down the account number (or user name) and password you used when you set up your account at the registrar. We will need this information when we set up the account where your website will be hosted.
After we agree on the cost and general features of your new website I will create several different graphic designs for your consideration. These designs will be based on colors you like or have seen on other websites. Each design will be placed on your website for your review. We will work together to refine the graphic design of your website untill you are pleased with the final appearence of the site.
If your photos are prints then you'll need to scan the photo and send it to me attached to an e-mail. If you don't have a scanner you can mail the photos to me and I will scan them and return them to you. If your photos were taken with a digital camera you can just e-mail the photos to me. If you have a large number of photos it is best to save them on a CD then mail the CD to me.
